Ubisoft and SEGA Unveil Upcoming Blockchain Games on Oasys Network

Gaming giants Ubisoft and SEGA are set to release original titles, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles and Battle of Three Kingdoms, utilizing the Oasys blockchain.

Renowned gaming companies, Ubisoft and SEGA, are making considerable investments in blockchain gaming. They are developing new titles, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles and Battle of Three Kingdoms, utilizing the Oasys blockchain.

Ubisoft revealed plans to possibly airdrop free tokens essential for game participation. The teaser trailer for the game suggests a visual theme reminiscent of tabletop games. The gaming company has also ventured into blockchain gaming with Rabbid characters in Sandbox and collectibles similar to Sorare's card-based fantasy football game.

Oasys, the chosen blockchain for these games, is a proof-of-stake, EVM-compatible platform with zero-gas-fees. Founded by executives from leading gaming companies like Bandi Namco Research and PlayStation, it was launched in February 2022.

SEGA, in partnership with blockchain gaming experts Double Jump Tokyo, plans to adapt the popular Web2 game Sangokushi Taisen for the Web3 environment, creating the trading card game Battle of Three Kingdoms.

Web3 games have the potential to rekindle interest in blockchain gaming by offering compelling gameplay, a feature that was somewhat neglected in early attempts at blockchain gaming. As the first AAA studio to invest significantly in Web3 gaming, Ubisoft might reignite interest in the NFT space by introducing engaging Web3 economics to titles gamers already love.
