Opera, the popular cryptocurrency-friendly browser, is set to bring the Metaverse at its users' fingertips. It is gearing up to integrate the Layer 1 blockchain, MultiversX - a platform previously known as Elrond, that's riding high on its Metaverse focus.

The integration will allow Opera's users to dive headfirst into the decentralized internet, fully equipped with the MultiversX network right within the browser's interface. In addition, they'll be enabled to transact using the network's native tokens, EGLD or ESDT, interact with MultiversX-based Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and engage with decentralized applications (dApps) built on the platform.

Speaking to CoinDesk, MultiversX's CEO Beniamin Mincu highlighted the significance of this integration. He said, "By weaving MultiversX into the Opera browser suite, we are harnessing the potential of Web3 in a user-friendly, familiar way. It is indeed a massive stride towards making blockchain assets and the world of Web3 seamlessly accessible to users, thereby reducing the barriers to entry."

Opera is not only integrating MultiversX into its desktop browser but also making the network accessible on its Android platform. MultiversX, on its part, is making impressive strides towards simplifying and broadening access to Web3 for new users. This includes the recent launch of its 'super app', xPortal, in February. This all-in-one platform allows users to easily navigate decentralized applications and metaverses.

The integration comes hot on the heels of MultiversX's collaboration with Tencent, the tech giant behind the popular messaging app WeChat, aimed at boosting Tencent's Web3 strategy.
