Anoma Foundation Reveals Namada Mainnet for Privacy

Following a recent $25 million investment backed by prominent supporters including CMCC Global and Electric Capital, the blockchain non-profit organization, Anoma Foundation, has unveiled its latest venture during Korea Blockchain Week: the Namada Mainnet. This groundbreaking project, centered around a Layer-1 protocol, places a strong emphasis on comprehensive asset privacy, extending its benefits across multiple blockchain networks.

Namada relies on an advanced zero-knowledge cryptography mechanism, positioning itself as a catalyst for seamless and confidential transactions involving both fungible and non-fungible assets across blockchain ecosystems like Ethereum and Cosmos. A standout characteristic of Namada is its concept of “composable privacy,” which underscores its capability to facilitate confidential interactions across a wide spectrum of platforms and applications.

Awa Sun Yin, co-founder of Namada, highlighted the critical role of privacy in the cryptocurrency landscape, stating, “The lack of privacy in crypto is becoming an existentially threatening centralization point. In recent years, we’ve seen large improvements in cryptography, combined with a more mature and growing multichain landscape – making it possible to make the best privacy accessible for any user. At this point, making privacy practical for anyone in crypto is no longer rocket science – it’s a matter of prioritization.”

Heliax, the research and development entity responsible for both Anoma and Namada, has gained substantial recognition for its noteworthy accomplishments. Notably, in December 2022, the organization orchestrated the largest-ever trusted setup ceremony, involving the active participation of 2,510 individuals. Moreover, Namada’s public testing phases have witnessed engagement from over 200 institutional and independent validators.

In the coming days, Anoma Foundation intends to reveal further details about Namada’s official launch, its developmental roadmap, token metrics, and initial proposals. This eagerly awaited information will offer valuable insights into the project’s trajectory and future developments. Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking endeavor that promises to enhance blockchain privacy and security.
